You Can Get Anything You Want At Alice's Restaurant

Alice Brock, the inspiration for Arlo Guthrie's 18 minute long Thanksgiving-themed comedic anti-war song "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" was a real person, and a real restaurant owner. She also was an artist and occasional author, providing illustrations to a book version of Arlo's "Mooses Come Walking" (in which moose come to peek in your window at night), authoring "My Life as a Restaurant" (a non-fiction story about the creation of her restaurants, including anecdotes and recipes), and writing and illustrating "How to Massage Your Dog" (an instructional book to relax your fuzzy friend, including steps such as "Grasp it by both ears, press firmly back until you hear the click" and "direct a volley of rapid slaps to the midriff").
